If you have a dog, you know the routine. They want out, you get up. They want back in, you get up again. It adds up fast - and honestly, it gets old. That's exactly the kind of everyday headache a well-placed dog door solves.

We installed two doggie doors for this St. George family, and this one required a little more than just drilling through drywall. One of the installs went through an exterior stucco wall - which means cutting through multiple layers cleanly, framing it out properly on both sides, and making sure everything is sealed so weather and pests aren't invited in along with the dog. It's the kind of job that looks simple when it's done right, but there's real skill in getting there.

The second door went into an interior door panel. The fit is tight and flush, the finish is clean, and you'd honestly barely notice it wasn't factory-built that way. That's the goal - functional and finished, not patched-looking.

What we like about pet door installations is that they're one of those small upgrades that genuinely changes your daily routine. The dog gets independence. The homeowner stops playing doorman all day. It's a simple fix with a real payoff. We take the same care on these jobs as we do on bigger ones - drop cloths down, caulk and seal done right, and a clean finish on both the interior and exterior sides.

Dog door installations aren't always straightforward, especially when you're going through a stucco exterior or a solid interior door. If you've been putting it off because you weren't sure how to tackle it, that's what we're here for.
